You are an art director, an art buyer, a newspaper or magazine editor, or an independent publisher and you need to licence images for publication, in print or on the web.
You are an actor or model or prominent businessperson. You require images for a portfolio, headshots to send out for casting calls, or pictures of yourself or your team to promote your business.
You are a model who needs portfolio work done and are unable to afford to pay for it. You are willing to make yourself available to shoot for various projects that I might be working on.
Photographer: 1: An artist whose creative work in a fixed, light-based medium shows sensitivity and imagination. 2: A craftsman capable of producing professional quality images conforming to precise specifications. 3: A technician proficent with the equipment required to produce technically perfect photographs.
My name is Kevin Duda and I am a photographer located in the San Francisco Bay Area. If you've found your way here, you're looking for some information about me, my work, my background, or my shooting style. I hope that all your questions will be answered below. Read on and get to know me...
I began shooting in 2002, mostly as a hobby. I was completely self-taught until 2004 when I began taking photo classes while I was earning my degree in Mathematics. Among the formally-taught classes that I have completed are Studio Lighting, Portraiture, Landscape, and B/W Chemistry. I have gone through 3 equipment upgrades and am constantly adding to my kit bag. Though my working focus was glamour when I began, I have since added landscape, tabletop, still life, product, portraiture, event, and wedding photography to my skillset and I am constantly seeking new directions to expand my work.
I believe that photography is the art of capturing the imagination, in more ways than one.
First, if the image is produced correctly, the viewer will be captivated; spellbound as their imagination is captured. They will gaze at the image, wondering how it was done as their eye explores the photograph.
Second, the photographer uses the camera to capture an instant as he imagined it. Anybody can use a point-shoot camera to get a picture of what the subject looked like, but only a skilled photographer can capture the precise way that the subject looked in the original viewer's own imagination.
My photographic methods strive for both of these ideals, whether I am using film or digital, with a view camera or a pinhole lens.
My existing body of work shows evidence of my ability to marry technical expertise with an artist's eye, and my perfectionist tendencies ensure that I never consider a photograph to be completed until it is flawless in every regard.
I am located in Fremont, CA, between the East San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. I have studio space in Hayward but am equally comfortable working on location as in the studio. I normally shoot at 13 Mpxl on the Canon 5D but I have been known to rent any equipment necessary to get a job done. I have a full, portable, rig of Alien Bees studio strobes with a wide selection of light modifiers to achieve the exact mood or effect desired for any photo. My shooting demeanor is relaxed, friendly, competent, and professional to put my subjects and clients in their most comfortable space.
I hope this answers your questions about my background and who I am. Please don't hesitate to
