Thank you for your interest in my work! I truly believe in providing the absolute best results when I am shooting a project; you will not be disappointed with the images that I create for you.
My licensing rates are based on a survey of prominent stock photo agency prices, which equates to great value to you: Why pay for a stock image that may have been seen hundreds of times before and is almost what you want when you can license custom imagery for the same price?

What it costs you
The price of an image includes the actual costs of the shoot and the usage license fee. The actual costs for the shoot will include a daily rate of $450 to cover my expenses, plus any extra costs for other labor, props, location fees, etc. The fee for the usage license can be estimated with the calculator below. These rates are very flexible and can be negotiated for bulk image licenses, multi-use licenses, repeat clients, or exceptionally interesting concepts that will add great value to my portfolio.

How to get started
Use the price calculator below to estimate the license fee to ensure that it is within the general area of your budget. (510-673-6785) with the details you used for the calculator as well as all other relavent details, such as location or model requirements, so that I can provide you with an accurate quote. Once we have a quote that matches your budget, we can proceed.
Before I commit to a shoot, I require two things:
  • A completed contract specifying the details of the usage license and describing each party's rights and responsibilities. You may view a sample contract at this link.
  • A non-refundable retainer equal to the original expenses estimate. This will enable me to begin preparation for the shoot by reserving a shooting date and procuring any necessary items, location, and labor.
What you get
If you do not have an Art Director present during the shoot to approve dailies, you will receive a digital proof sheet of all the images that were shot. Once your edits have been chosen, you will receive a CD or DVD with your image choices in high-resolution TIFF format. Each file will have a small amount of retouching done, to ensure that you receive clean, crisp images. Digital delivery is also possible. You will receive rights to use the images in the manner agreed upon in our contract. The usage license fee and the balance of any unforseen expenses will be due upon delivery of the images.

A note about copyright and exclusivity: I will be retaining copyright on any images I produce. Copyright will not be transferred as part of any contract or agreement that I make. This is standard procedure among photographers. However, I do understand that it is important for your pictures to be associated only with your organization; if you wanted pictures that everyone else had, you would have just gone to a stock agency. Therefore, all images that I produce come with total exclusivity for the duration of the license; the image will not be licensed to anyone else during that time period. The only use that may occur would be my own portfolio or self-publishing use. This is a fabulous deal, as total exclusivity in stock photography is very very expensive.
